Since February 1998, LMHA has awarded more than £100,000 to 114 projects in Liverpool.

Recently funded projects include:

  • a mental health promotion week in a primary school
  • a self-esteem course for young women
  • a Fathers & Sons meal for the Somali community
  • a horticultural project for young people who have offended
  • a conference for
    GPs exploring alternatives to tranquilisers
  • a newsletter for people who self-injure
  • a display on stress created by young men
  • an art exhibition on the UN Rights of the Child
  • a garden area in a special needs school
  • a bereavement support service for children
  • art workshop and calendar by homeless people
  • a reading scheme for hospital patients

Liverpool Mental Health Awareness is pleased to announce that, on World Mental Health Day, Friday October 10th 2008, our Mental Health Grant Scheme is reopening for applications from projects and organisations that are are keen to run their own mental health promotion schemes.
